HİS is the product of a quiet yet deliberate dialogue we’ve tried to build between architecture and nature—shaped through close observation of Urla’s topography, vegetation, and light.
The buildings are positioned on terraces constructed from stone unearthed during the excavation process. This stone is more than just a structural material; it carries the physical and conceptual connection between the architecture and the very ground it rises from. The entire settlement grows from its own terrain—favoring a language of architecture that feels internal rather than imposed.
Comprising 125 homes, the project embraces a restrained material palette. Alongside exposed concrete and excavated stone, natural wood brings warmth and softness. We focused on the relationships between interiors and exteriors, between the dwellings and the views—aiming to shape a calm yet grounded spatial rhythm. The surrounding landscape, woven with olive trees, lavender, and native Mediterranean plants, allows the architecture to quietly recede into the background.
For us, HİS is more than a housing development; it is a proposition for a timeless, grounded way of living—one that grows out of the land itself. Shaped by light, wind, and the shade of olive trees, it aspires to offer a balanced, simple, and meaningful environment for everyday life.
