Located in one of Miami’s fire-affected residential areas, Hampden 683 is among the first houses developed as part of the area’s reconstruction. The project reinterprets the pitched-roof house, a familiar element of Miami’s residential silhouette, through two connected volumes. The domestic program is organized within these volumes according to privacy, daylight, and the relationship between interior and exterior spaces. Living areas open toward the garden on the ground floor, while the upper floor contains the bedrooms and a shared living area. The façade uses a limited palette of textured stucco and black vertical aluminum siding. Window surrounds formed within the stucco are treated as part of the building mass, giving the house its distinct character. The aluminum siding is used selectively around the entrance, distinguishing it from the white volumes and clearly defining the point of arrival. Through simple materials, clear forms, and precise detailing, the project establishes a contemporary architectural language.
